Summer

by Momentary Relapse   Apr 26, 2006

Summer is coming finally
Looking out the window to the sky
Azure appearance with wispy clouds
A breeze flowing quickly by

Sitting inside hunched over books
English lectures and math equations
Boring the troubled spirits and minds
The eagerness for new foundations

Cold streams under welcoming shade
The bubbled laughter of a throaty roar
Crisp air bringing forth the scent
A newly grown tree to proudly soar

Cramped fingers and throbbing heads
The glare of a computer glowers back
Panes of glass separates the summer
Trapped in a place where nature lacks

The new leaves of summer growing strong
The lazy days a welcoming release
Underneath the trees hearing quietness
Worrisome deadlines in summer cease

The brooks and streams amble along
Escape from a prison to find relief
Beneath a blanket of summerâ??s light
The start of a rejuvenated leaf

Nature poems are often under-rated and under-read and I'm really glad I found this one. I found the idea really unusual, a justaposition of school and it's seperation from the summer-time all around. I really enjoyed reading this, very original. I can't really pin point a favourite line or stanza I just really loved it! Great write, 5/5 x!

I really like this poem, I can't wait until school is over and i can finally appreciate being outside without thinking 'i should be revising'. {not that i hardly do} :)
