Looking Back

by Simon Hayes   Apr 26, 2006

I search through memories
Both good and bad.
Times of happiness,
And times so sad.

I look through photos.
There's me, there's you.
We had our troubles,
But we pulled through.

I'm wiser now
Than I was then.
Wish I could do it
All again.

No regrets...
I'm 93,
Still plenty of life
Left in me.

I enjoyed my life
It was filled a plenty.
With beautiful times,
Nothing empty.

So I'll sit here
In my golden seat.
Watch my family,
Grow at my feet.

Before it's time
To say goodbye.
I'll smile and sing,
But never cry.

A wonderous walk down memory lane of a life that has lived! My favorite stanze was

    No regrets...
    I'm 93,
    Still plenty of life
    Left in me

I can only hope to be around long enough to repeat those words. Take care.
