Once Upon a Time

by Julia   Apr 27, 2006

There is a place i knew of; now so sadly far away,
once crowded with bright memories and thoughts of yesterday.

Mixed in with hopes and desire of my mind turning concrete,
it was the pure haven for one who's dead and incomplete.

the sun thawed out my stubborness and made my mind see truth,
this world gave me my innocence, remniscent of my youth.

i could soar above the willows and dance with the fluent breeze,
i ruled above all hopelessness, and conquered hate with ease.

there were no laws against me; this world sang its own sweet song
but a new foe crossed its lines-the dark force of loss and long.

they captured me, took me away, invaded my lost mind,
this happy world i used to love is now so hard to find.

the wind no longer dances, it destroys life once held dear,
the sun has hidden away, cowering in its own fear,

An oasis of happiness becomes empty and dry,
as it howls with all fury, the doors of its death draw nigh.

i gaze at the once peaceful world, now built of long and hate,
the anger and the shadows stole away my once soul-mate.

darkness brought upon this land seem to tear it all apart,
the world created my my mind, and destroyed by my heart.
