Unknown Pheromones

by Lost Soul 691   Apr 27, 2006

What do you see
when you look at me
What do you hear
when I speak

What signals am I giving
that always get crossed
Why does every male
long for a piece

Do my eyes give away
a yearning inside
Or under the prim suit
can lingerie be implied

Bean counter I am
some say a safe choice
But the passes don't lessen
could it be in the voice

What am I doing wrong
when friendships my lead
For somehow that's left you
replaced by another need

So tell me the truth
I do want to know
How do I tone down
the unknown pheromones

    "What am I doing wrong
    when friendships my lead"

I'm not sure I understand what the phrase 'when friendships my lead' means... I might just be missing more of the sentence or something. Or it might be a typo, dunno, so I figured I'd mention it.

I liked this poem, it had enough unconventional imagery that it passed the message along without running into cliches. I hope I figured out the meaning okay, which is that there is a friend who is attracted to you, and you want to know how to help them get over it, or something along those lines.
