Regret

by Samantha lynn   Apr 27, 2006

Sometimes I wonder,
If this is what it's supposed to be like.
That we live each day
To change the next,
Always trying hard to make it better
Or make it right.
Sometimes, I imagine
What it would be like
To change everything
And start it all over.
Regret,
Love,
Hope,
Faith,
It all got messy overtime.
Love changed me,
Yet I learned to live
With it's bittersweet regret,
Hope moved me to be better,
Yet faith was lacking
And I couldn't find my way.
So, what comes next?
It's hard to imagine
Anything beyond this day.
Since it seems you can never know
What heart you're branding on you hip,
In black ink and touched by a soft pink,
Next in response to every boy
That's broken your heart.
But that's what we do,
Take revenge,
And try to hold it all together.
One fragile splinter at a time
Before it's too late
And we're lost to the one thing
That destroys us all in the end;

Regret.
