In the Apocalypse We Dance

by EpithetPoet   Apr 28, 2006

As the heavens fall and meet the earth, it will still just be you and me, still dancing under the stars we fabricate, their light that shines upon our skin brightening the ashen ground beneath our happy feet
As the skeletons creep out of their closets grasping at our dextrous feet, feeling lighter than air in your arms, their bones break into a million opalesque pieces thrown into the abyss
As the sirens sing their tempting song, trumpeting another melodic note, our legs only move to the sounds of each other, the voice of our love
As the fire licks at our lips and singes our sides i melt in your arms for the very last time
