Tough luck, Small print, and little white lies (lyrics)

by LostHopesCrimsonTears   Apr 29, 2006

[v1]
now ain't it funny how when you're in school
they teach you all about
how you can do this
and you can do that
but they don't tell ya 'bout tough luck

they don't bother to mention how sometimes
things don't always work out
they don't tell you bout the small print
they just happened to leave that out

[chorus]
tough luck, small print
and little white lies.
some things are just best left unsaid
but some you cant deny

they don't tell ya 'bout the real word
when your just a little kid
but the truth is some reality
you shouldn't always keep hid

[v2]
"honesty's the best policy"
your parents would say to you
but they don't tell you that theres sometimes
when its plain rude to be so true

they don't bother to mention how sometimes
its okay to tell a white lie
they don't tell you 'bout the little things
on which society relys

[bridge]
its not the end of the world they say
if you don't always win the game
but they don't tell you how in the real world
the case ain't always the same

tough luck, small print
and little white lies
some things are just best left unsaid
but some you cant deny

they don't bother to mention how sometimes
things just don't work out
they don't tell you bout the small print
guess they just happened to leave that out

Well said! It's so true, you grow up in a world of ideals and then one day you have to find out the hard way that honesty is absolutely NOT the best policy and that life isn't all fairy cakes and candyfloss...I totally agree! I remember being idealistic once...=p Great write, really inspired 5/5 x

    "relys" should be "relies"

Anyway I can totally realte to this poem, about how adults protect their children from the truth...but they can't do forever
As a song it would work very well, I can almost hear it now!
    Great again :)
