Shrinking Violet

by *Cosmic*Whispers*   May 2, 2006

I speak in words that you refuse to hear
I'm weeping before you but you're blind to my tears
Smear my blood on your wrist and you recoil in fear
I could make your safe existence disappear

Light a match to your heart and watch it go up in smoke
Do you think you could live if I destroyed your hope?
If I shove truth down your neck and just watch you choke
Would you resent me as I swung from this rope?

Betrayed by the Banshee you love to despise
I'll scream in your face and spit hate in your eyes
Rip open your skin and laugh at what's inside
Then shrink back to a violet, what a perfect disguise
