Vulture Talons Piercing My Heart of Flesh

by sierra   May 2, 2006

Oh
My wounded heart
The vultures of despair have come
Circling around you
Ready to strip the last bit of life from you
Talons ready to pierce your flesh
Till the first bit of blood trickles from your body
The lust in their eyes to devour you
Making sure you're never capable of working again
Each vessel shutting down
One by one
Slowly losing your capabilities
To love...
To cherish...
To lust...
To care...
Going from a deep, vibrant, red to a hollow, depressing, black
Black as the eyes of the beast that has you bound to the ground
Holding you back from your destiny
Hovering over you
So close you can smell his breath
The stench of loneliness filling your pores
Taking over your soul
Transforming you from a heart of love to a ball of hatred
Brain-washing you
Washing away what was once a positive being
Replacing it with a negative spit-fire
No more remorse and care-free days
Instead relentless and up-tight nights
Oh fiend that has cast though sights upon this defenseless creature
Flee at once and let this heart heal
Let it become strong again
Strong enough to love
Allow love to prevail from this heart and become the conqueror over all evil
