Yearning for you

by Clarissa   May 3, 2006

What if I could kiss you and hold you, knowing that you would still be here?
That all the infinite memories were real and nothing were to break this, but I took my risk and I kissed you, the way people show how they feel and their compassion for that one person that you know is everything. But what do you do? You disappear into the darkness and your now just a memory, a memory I wish to go back to and cherish and live it forever. So I take my instinct and I follow it and I gaze and I look at you, I look long and hard for you in the darkness. Where are you? My true love? Why must you vanish? I cry long and hard until there are no more tears for these pathetic eyes to shed. I weep weaker yearning for you, where are you? Where? I realize your never coming back as much as I believe sitting here. Your gone, but a small yet vast part of me says you will be coming back and everything is going to be ok.

I liked the content of the poem... but would enjoy it much more if it was structured and presented in a way you want the poem to flow. The entire poem should also be broken down into three stanzas to create the different tone... the time when you're together... the time he disappeared... and ending with the insight into your emotional state of mind. Otherwise, good write. Keep up the good work.

I agree with everyone else, some descriptions could bring this to life. This one line is more of a run on so maybe cut it to two different sentences:
So I take my instinct and I follow it and I gaze and I lookâ?¦ also maybe get rid ot eh site signs by editing your poem. Nice prose and a good message. It did have emotion to it.

Nice prose... Could have been a little more metaphorical or symbolic, but the poem was still passionate. Good write!
