Peace

by Jason   May 4, 2006

We need peace,
I can't stand all this fighting,
Too many people dying,
I'm watching this world crumble in front of me,
It's up to we the people to take care of this problem,
Our government has decided to flee,

There is too much hostility,
Not just overseas,
It's so easy to see,
Just step out onto the streets,

If I could speak to the world,
I'd tell them that in order to find world peace,
We must first find peace in ourselves,
But people don't listen,

Too many people are blind to the truth,
I see clearly though,
The world is close-minded,
Peace is not one-sided,

Peace has taken a step down,
Pope John Paul II is dead,
Mother Teresa is dead,
Such great activists they were,
Everything has become such a blur,

Mr. President,
You tell us that this is the land of the free,
And that our safety is secure,
Can't you see that we are tired of talk?
We want action,
From you and your faction,

Say what you want,
I'm not controversial,
This world is full of strife,
Start to accept these words into your life,

This world needs to see the light,
Cast aside your dark clouds of pride,
We all need to help in our own way,
Reconstruction starts now,
All you need is a voice,
Speech is my weapon of choice
