A Lost Lover

This little girl cried herself to sleep
For the sixth time this week
She couldnt tell him the truth
These two lovers youth..

When she saw him, she walked right by
For tonight she will not cry...
She said "It's time to let go of me
There will be better girls, you'll see"

He asked why
But only got a shrug and a sigh
This little girl who was proud
This little girl who was enthusiastic and loud

He stopped by her house with a card
For him, this was hard
Her mother came to the door with tears in her eyes

Told him she was not here.. these were all lies!
He needed this girl and her love
said a prayer for her to the sky's above

Months passed on
and this little girl was gone
Should he stop by her home
No, he decided to call by phone

After a ring or two, he got her mother
She said that he should get another lover
This mother hung up with a sigh
This boy hung up and started to cry

Days went longer
And him never getting stronger
Finally he went to the little girls mother
She realized that he really loved her

So she started to cry
and then yelled " my little girl is going to die!"
He fell to the ground
He went numb and couldn't hear a sound

Her mother took him to her daughter
His eyes just locked there
She lyes there
He wondered if she could hear

Held her hand and sat by the bed
He will sit here until she is dead
That night he said a prayer to spare
Her life for his, hoped God could hear

That morning she awoke
But as she spoke
She saw him there
Tried to wake him but he couldn't hear

That morning the boy died
And that morning she sat there and cried
He left her a message in a card
Opening it was too hard

In it he wrote
"In heaven I float
And you on earth,
you will love, live and give birth

I switched our lives
And please take back your cries

You needed me
And this is what was to be

In the end I die
But in heaven I fly"

She grew older
And kept the card in a personal folder

She loved, lived, and gave birth
She was old when she left earth

But never forgot the what he did
