This Isn't The End (Part 2)

by Chelsea Renae   May 6, 2006

They both graduated high school that year
new lives they were ready to begin
she left to California that summer
their hometown he stayed in

he still thought about her
on every lonely rainy night
sometimes he thought
that holding on wasn't worth the fight

they both dated different people
but it always came to an end
he was afraid of getting to close
and she had a heart that wouldn't mend

she moved back home after one year of college
how he felt he couldn't explain
he went to her house
and again waited for her in the rain

she asked him what he was doing there
and he said this time I'm asking you to forgive me
I want a second chance with you
us together is the way it should be

it's been so long and you still want to try she asked
things are so different now though
I broke your heart once and watched you leave
but this time I can't let you go

he leaned in and kissed her
and she let him hold her tight
they fell in love all over again
and she forgave him that night
