Are you Still up?

by PS   May 6, 2006

Are you still up listening in the other room
Can you hear me writing my world in a journal
The love the fear the hope of my life
Can you hear the pen scratch the parchment

Or are you still up but listening to my sobs
My tears that fall from my full eyes
Hit the pages that hold my life
Bound tight hidden in a box

Do you think I cry because of your anger
Fool, I cry for the days that I’ve lost crying,
For the days, I spent worrying about you.
I don’t need you here, so why do you stay

Powerful write... The last line said it all. A very strong willed poem, sad and heartfelt.
