The Song of the Loveless

by BrokenMisery   May 8, 2006

The piano plays the soft melody,
your heart break masters the harmony.
The cigarette perched between your lips
is the smell of sweet denial when you can't come to grips.

Your lying eyes and broken teeth
spill these chemicals from underneath
(your caught heart-broken).

It's the song of the loveless,
the poem of those alone.
It's the sound of distress,
from another broken home.
It's the tears that won't stop falling,
in the empty night.
It's the voice that's calling,
for that one to hold them tight.

Murmur your dreams for the stars to hear,
(they're the only ones who you never had to fear);
and as you litter the air with your thoughts,
holding the dead reminder of the cause.

Your lying eyes and broken teeth
spill these chemicals from underneath
(your caught heart-broken).

It's the song of the loveless,
the poem of those alone.
It's the sound of distress,
from another broken home.
It's the tears that won't stop falling,
in the empty night.
It's the voice that's calling,
for that one to hold them tight.

The waters up to your neck, dying from disease;
your mouth left dry from one last kiss to please.
And when your lungs have filled in your own regret,
you'll remember the one you couldn't forget.

It's the song of the loveless...
