Little Brother

by hopeless08   May 8, 2006

As you lay in bed asleep
I run my hand over your soft, tight curls
I notice the smirk on your face
And I cant help but weep
I remember the day you were born
And the way our family was then
But thinking of our family now
Leaves my heart torn

I wish I could change everything
And put the pieces of
Our puzzle back together
But now it seems un-repairable
The happy family that we once had
Is sad and twisted
The puzzle pieces have been
Lost and forgotten

We were drug into the middle
Of something you could not help
But I guess their patience and love
Just ran out
But dont get sad and discouraged
I will be here to pick you up
When you are down

I am your sister
And I promise you that my love
Will never run dry
I will give you hugs
And show you love
Like my little brother deserves

You will make it through
And I will be by your side
I will catch you when you fall
And hold you when youre scared
Ive realized it doesnt matter
How our family turns out
It matters who is beside you in the end
We will make it through all of this
The two of us together like a family should be
Brother and sister
You and me
