Broken Friends

by Daenerys Stormborn   May 10, 2006

There are two sides to every story
I was so happy but you stole my glory
I listened to all you had to say
But I still think it had to be that way
We all heard what you thought took place
Even I believed that might have been the case
But after awhile, I peeled away the blindfold
And I realized something that made me cold
You are not the friend I thought you were
I have been fooling myself, now I am sure
Is getting revenge all you can think of?
What about my heart? What about my love?
I hate the person I see in you now
So bitter, so empty, so resentful somehow
I wish I had known a long time ago
Then maybe this would not be so heavy a blow
You threw me away without a drop of remorse
We were so close but you changed your course
It breaks my heart to know not that you could
But after all we have been through, you actually would
I miss the best friend who made me believe
That through thick and thin, would never leave
