Could You Care If I Just Left

by -Ѕнэ đιεđ ѕсѓεάміηĝ-   May 13, 2006

Do you want to see the pain you've caused
its right here on my wrist
do you need more proof than all my cuts
to know that i don't exist

do you want to know why i do it
could you handle so much pain
could you take all the rejection
never having anything to gain

every time when you get home
could you stand to pick up that knife
would you be able to slice your wrist with it
in hope it ends your life

could you take it when it never worked
and you all you do is cry
would you want to live any longer
or would you want to slowly die

i don't think you could handle it
i don't think you would care
that one day if my pain ended
and i was no longer there

*hey please comment on my poem, i always return the favor, but please don't do it to be selfish, do it only if you like my poem, keep strong Mel*

To add to that, I think events like Bell's Walk for Kid's Help Phone are occasions for people who on a regular basis, turn a blind eye to the cuts ont he wrists, to come clean with their conscience; such that, they can go on turning blind eyes, until such a time, where they can again, "feel good", by making donations hoping that a paid organization will wash their conscience clean for them.

people here don't need money, they need someone to show that they care.
they need to know that they matter

I think its sad that so many of the poems I read here are about people cutting their wrists. I believe that when most people read these poems, their immediate reaction is "how annoying it is". Perhaps this is true to a certain extent, but nevertheless i think this is a problem in our society that needs to be addressed, and made known. That is why you must never stop writing, because Bell's Walk for Kid's Help Phone doesn't do shit. Speak out, make a difference.
