Afraid To Dream

by Timothy r   May 16, 2006

Forty two hours now and wide awake
Praying to the lord my soul to take
Insomnia takes a hold of my weary mind
Dreams and images falling far behind

Depression does not stand a snowball`s chance
Darkness another villain for whom to dance
My eyes too strained to correctly see
The devil at my side laughing at me

Thoughts of your face have me in tears
Sleep escapes me for many a year
Times it felt better to just let out a scream
Darkness represnts my fear to dream

Dreams of what once could have been
Images that break my heart within
Roses that suddenly died from grace
Shunning the disappointment from your face

Forty three hours gone and wide awake
Still haunted by terrible mistakes
Headaches morphed into a primal scream
Revealing my fears of a peaceful dream

Tim, what a brilliant penned, though sad but well expression within your emotions, No dream would be a dream if it Could pass for something real, Nor would you sail for paradise Would it its shoals conceal. best wishes for you, bert.
