Regret

by Haylie   May 17, 2006

A cold creeps in
and settles in my bones
and i wonder if i should fight it
I'm lying here in a deep snow
waiting for a numbness
that will cast me deep
in the night of sleep
my eyes close
and i look back in the past
a sorrow fills my heart
i wish i were happy
i wish i weren't alone
but i am
there are others waiting for me
i could still make it...
if i had the will
their lives carry
escape and warmth
but Ive laid here too long
the cold is in my heart and mind
without knowing
i chose death
now I'm afraid
but too late
my eyes grow weary
i cant hold on much longer
alone
afraid
unloved
too late to live
too late...
