Never good enough

by laura   May 17, 2006

No matter how hard you try,
You don't achieve the goals you set
You can't get the grades you want
Or play the best to get the solo

You vowed you'd play for her
At the next concert
But it never happened
You were left alone on stage

You worked so hard,
Only to be disappointed and alone
Your intellect and skill are all you have
To show for you're few years of high school

You don't belong with everyone else
Time to fly away from the nest
All your work has finally paid off
You've achieved the greatest gift

You decided what to do
Made your own plan
Not following the crowd
Doing what you wish

You fly alone, your friends gone,
They followed a different path
Leaving the wonders for you to explore
On your own.
