Disaster.

by Lisa   May 20, 2006

A terrible disaster,
remembered for so long,
The day they took their lives,
why did they do wrong.

They chose to wreck the towers,
They stood ever so tall,
Then there upon the ground they lay,
like a damaged fallen wall.

The victims that were flying,
upon those planes that day,
Never had a choice to live,
lives taken in dismay.

A dust that couldn't settle
completely filled the air,
many cries and screams were heard,
saddened victims despair.

Little children crying,
faces now tarnished grey,
walking round in misery,
not knowing what to say.

So many stood together,
Tried looking for the lost,
Scrambling through the bricks and dust,
Hoping people were alive regardless of the cost.

Some now reunited,
Though others, incomplete,
because of men that chose to hurt,
and full of bad deceit.

A nation stood together,
Raised above it all,
They chose to stand as one,
Softening the fall.

Everyone remembered,
until this very day,
A nation stands together
Forever it will stay.

I would suggest just making the title lowercase. Otherwise, it was truly a sad day and still is. Always remember 9-11
