Today i am beat
that pumps through your veins and
rocks your hips back and forth.
i unleash the Funk inside
and allow you to get freaky.
Today i am the camera
that holds memories in my heart
like pictures in an album.
I see all your beauty and i hold on to it
so that later you can take a look.
Today i am the hope
that burns in your mind
like a small candle when the power is out.
I'll shine a little light
and help you find your way.
Today i am the ashtray
where you can get rid of that nasty secret you've held on to
thats killing you inside.
I'll take it from you and store it away
so i can see the smile light your face again.
Yesterday i was the sunset
that told you it was over
crashed down upon you in anguish and insecurity
but today, i believe!
I am the sunrise
reaching the sky and singing out loud
theres hope for one more day
to be beautiful like the last
one more chance for opportunity to bloom
for the sun to shine.
Hands stretched high above my head
