The Marvelous Prison

by EddieDeLaRosa   Feb 17, 2004

I went home late To wake up early
To see the water all green and dirty
I must spend all day in this marvelous place
To serve coffee, dinner and bus dirty plates
Why can’t anyone give us a tip to share
Cuz what we get can’t pay for cab fare
Everyone is given what they all expect
In return we get nothing, not an ounce of respect
I hate my weekends
Cuz those are the days
I sign to be, a personal slave
Of course I must smile I must always behave
Why must I shave with their cheap razor blades?
Even though I try, even though I work hard
It feels like I do nothing… nothing by far
Many workers leave cuz there’s too much shit to take
When I look Wednesday night I see a line… a long line of future inmates.
