Remember Me - Nameless Tombstone

by xLongxXxLostx   May 27, 2006

A nameless tombstone
hidden among the leaves.
A long forgotten promise,
that only one person sees....

A broken heart through the ages
of a love that never died..
and a secret of the past,
of that lover's suicide.

The whole time together
she never showed her tears.
Not a single drop fallen
even through the years.

Only she has him in mind,
as he remains in memory.
The hurt still shows in her eyes
when he whispered -remember me-

And on the night he died besider her,
He said he was freed.
She held him tight in her arms,
and would forever want to bleed.

Now so many years have gone,
since the night be passed away.
And he once auburn locks,
have now faded to silver-grey.

The light of her eyes
have long since been dim
as the awaits that day
when she is again with him.

A rose sets atop
-as a small recollection-
Toshow him that she remembers
the two lovers' affection.

One day I heard her praying,
and I knew just what she was saying.

"My love, I'll someday come home."
The one who only remembered, that nameless tombstone.

(For my Memorials day, I wrote this for my grandmother. Although he never commited suicide, he still died at a younger age than he should have. She also told me once that she never cried over death, or at his funeral. (Although she wanted to) Her husband's gravestone was covered with leaves and vine-weeds and its hard to see. Its also nothing more than a small slab of concrete, with a simple metal over it for his recomendations during the war. His grave lays in the corner of our cemetary, and she has never forgot its place.

Love you grandma. ^^' . )
