Curtains Drawn

by ratchild666   May 28, 2006

Curtains drawn, we take a bow
Audience echoing why and how
All the hope lost all too fast
Thrown expertly into the past

You won't be asking how I am
Or keeping to my master plan
You'll be asking how the new ones are
Where they've been, how long, or far

Watch them dance upon the stage
That we once graced on a previous page
Forget the screenplay and the lines
Heckled scenes and difficult times

Unconvincing, there I sat
Next to you, but always just that
Never closer and nothing more
Just me and myself walk out the door

Now I have to learn to live
And keep all that I want to give
While you forget and then pretend
And I remember you're just a friend
