Defying Gravity

by Sondos   May 28, 2006

Kiss the nymph and melt the funnels
Of logic, manners, common sense
As the chariots flow through underground tunnels
Dust the gold and glory from false pretence

Bathe me bare in the veils of the sea
Salt my skin and strip the stars
Ignite the organs and twist the trees
Thread dragonflies into these prison bars

Blacken the sun with dripping ceiling wax
Drape dreams into the pallor of gold
Redden the cheeks and the curls I'll flax
With toads and princes sweep away the mould

Shadow the glade and live for the light
Braid gossamer toadstools flakily
Trek with the trolls to never ending plight
Levitate me honey-defy gravity

Lovely poem Sondos. I know I have not read much of your work, but I can tell you I enjoyed this poem. The rhymes and flow were great. The details and imagery were amazing. This is a really nice piece of work.
