GONE

by HidingBehindASmile   May 29, 2006

Little tiny cookie crumbs
Memories when she was young
She'd try real hard just to succeed
But then one day
She would see
Through all her life
Through all her hard work
People passed by with nothing
Not even a smirk
But then one day, she was gone

He'd do things bad
He'd do things wrong
But nothing happened
Though his days were long
She'd disappoint people
When she'd do wrong
But then one day, she was gone

The teasing, the treachery
The abusing, the hardships
All things he never had to deal with
The good covered up so quick by the bad
Never was happy, always was sad
But then one day, she was gone

No matter what
She was teased
No matter who
They were always pleased
No matter what
She'd get the blame
All those years
How did she stay sane?
But then one day, she was gone

All the love to give
All the love to share
A life that could have been lived
If only someone had cared
The crushes crushed her
If only one had stayed
The most important person of all gone
All those nights she wasted and prayed
But then one day, she was gone

No way, no how
Through a life unfit
To take a look inside of it
The darkness followed
What would become?
Of the silent girl
Marching to the beat of her own drum
But then one day, she was gone

The day before
She was staring at the door
For once, just once!
They asked her what was wrong
But it was too late, for she was gone
Not completely, just in thought
All the dreams that she had sought
All the things that she had bought
It doesn't matter!
It never did!
So go away!
I won't be here to stay!

They didn't notice, until a phone call came
Telling of the girl who met a fate untame
If only they had cared, if only they had shared
But it doesn't matter now
For she is truly GONE

Wow, at first i just thought it was going to be a really long one, but the way you described everything kept me wanting to read more and more. I think you really nailed the one stanza with this set of lines:
    "What would become?
    Of the silent girl
Marching to the beat of her own drum"

Excellent imagery. Keep up the good work! 5/5 :)
