Life Goes On

by Dark Elmo   May 31, 2006

I have to forget you,
But you never leave my head.
Trying to keep the tears at bay,
While I'm laying in my bed.

Quit saying you love me,
It's like a slap in the face.
Just in case you don't remember.
It was YOU who wanted space.

So forget the nice things we said,
The special places we've been.
I cry to myself when I hear your voice.
So please don't call again.

Don't call me everytime
You feel depressed or alone.
Just forget my number,
'Cause I'm not picking up the phone.

No, I can't remember it was you
Who helped me win the fights.
The battles I waged within myself,
Late into the nights.

Forget that you helped me,
Stop the cutting and self-hate.
When we said our goodbyes,
It was way too hard to take.

But I just have to remember,
That it was you who made up your mind.
You wanted me to hate you.
And you'd leave the memories of me behind.

So I'm just granting your wish.
Getting my life back on track.
Leaving the thoughts of you behind.
No, I'm not looking back.
