My Soul Is...

by Ali   Jun 1, 2006

My soul is a miner seeking after unearthly treasures
Chipping away at the things of this world,
Hoping to discover the truth beyond here and now,
And see the reality beyond myself

Aspiring to shine through the darkness,
Though failing often to keep the light on,
And always walk in the right direction

Born in the confines of original sin,
My soul digs for spiritual maturity,
Thirsts for answers,
Longs for approval

Breaking through the emotional barriers of humankind,
And building up the morals theyve torn down.
Daily my soul seeks to cleanse itself
Of the mines ever-present muck
And lift those around me
To where they can see something more

Falling short of His glory,
This miner sometimes tires,
But never loses sight of the goal,
Which is an eternity in paradise.
