The Rarity of Listening

by Daenerys Stormborn   Jun 1, 2006

You think that I am an ignorant child
So young and unaware-so very wild
But if you stop to listen for just one time
You may hear the many voices in my mind
I am part of the hateful world that we live in
I have heard the dying words of all my kin
I have seen how cruelly we treat each other
I have begged enemies to listen to one another
They listened and left with tears in their eyes
And later I was called both noble and wise
But understand, listening is what gets you places
It is how to read peoples hearts, not their faces
