Rebel Angels

by jaynesloss   Jun 2, 2006

There's danger straight ahead
They know they should go back
But they ignore the signs instead

"That woman's strict you shouldn't push it"
Their instict says to follow the rules
But this ciggarettes been lit
And there's some things they just can't quit

These Rebel Angels

Flying into trees
Instead of soaring steadily
Bringing the worst of men to their knees
Making old habits available quite readily

I flew with them at one time
I knew their stories
I participated in their crime

But these things you cannot hide
And the name will follow you your whole life
So take old pain in stride
And discard all evidence, that dirty knife

Recognize the time
When living life meant playing by your own rules
When descriptions didn't rhyme

That Angel is a Rebel
There's a group of them who meet after school
And they can always recognize a fool
