The spirit in the bottle

by ♥*Jodie*♥   Jun 5, 2006

The bottle i hold was once filled will spirits
i engaged in the ceremony of intoxication.
i lifted and tilted till the thing ran inside of me
a quick burn in the throat, my body tingled.
unconscious and hypnotized i did things unspeakable
acts of gross indecency, acts of devils.

i slept as a dead corpse, out for long
dreams and visions of blur encapsulated in my mind.
waking was as a cave man, slow and tedious
feelings of vomit filled my stomach, i was sick.
the spirit finally departed leaving me alone
from the bottle, down my throat, now in the world
emotionless and empty,i shop for another bottle of absinthe.

murky green and transparent, I'm fixed.
the spirit of all spirits found me quick.
the genie i unleashed is finally free
working mysteriously,destroying me.

Your idea itself is great and the way you executed the poem... it is a beautiful piece. Very structured and flowy. I love it.
