Home ((about rabbit proof fence))

by holly   Jun 6, 2006

**i wrote this for a history assignment to tell about molly's (from rabbit proof fence) concept of home. feedback is appriciated :D

As Little Molly walks the road,
with single minded determination,
to follow the rabbit proof fence.
She has but one word on her lips,
one thought on her mind,
Home is what she thinks.

Step by Step,
Trudging Forward.
One image, keeping her alive.
A picture of home,
implanted in her mind.

As she wanders down the fence
cousin by her side, sister in her arms,
she fixes her mind
on her village and home,
her friends and family,
and the life that she knows.

That is her home,
and where she wants to be,
thats where her heart belongs.
Her image of home,
it keeps her alive
On wards it makes her go.

I really enjoyed the poem, any my only criticism is that you repeated the word 'home' too often for me to be comfortable. I'd try to work around that, change a few 'home's to some other words, and restructure a few sentences to avoid being unintentionally repetitive.
