Apocalypse

by mookoo   Jun 7, 2006

Can I bare to crawl from beneath the safety?
the warmth hiding me from the misery
I slowly sneak a peek from beyond the door
thunder booming in a heart-shattering roar

the rain pouring from the sky, drowning me
blinding me with my face tilted to the raging sea
as it cast but a blurry glow as it falls in cold sheets
like a small frostbitten army attacking in fleets

power reverberating as the plants drink full
lightning streaks leaving an imprint on my skull
the clouds part in a spreading mist of light
an arrow shot through me in a line of fright

a foot reaches from the depth os the cloud above
skin soft and milky white as a divine dove
an angel in his majesty as Gabriel opens his
thick powerful wings over the devastated abys

trumpets sound at the dawn of our apocalypse
awestruck with parting clouds to an eclipse
am I worthy to look into the angels face?
caught at glance as my existence slowly erases

he blinks and I slowly go numb and my eyes
are shadowed over in a heavy burdening lies
is this his mercy? to kill me at his very whim
soft crystalline tears collect and begin to brim

I collapse and watch him flutter about the skies
creating a orb to which will bring our demise
souls rise from the righteous and those saved
the orb grows in size, souls climb heights unpaved

as I see but the edge of an orb casting a rapid swell
the end proclaimed and my soul in forsaken spell...
