My Cell

by Shane Peate   Jun 9, 2006

The wheels of destiny spin, weaving a web of sorrow.
Regret in my wake, a shadow and reminder.
Scars of days past, spent alone, not forgotten.
Slipping into darkness I've drowned in my misery.
Protection from pain and doubt I've found.
A stranglehold of fear restrains, rendering me motionless.
Laying still - none can see, none can hear, none can feel me.
Waiting for the day she will set me free.
Free from my cell in this prison of depression I've created.
The guards of which are fear and doubt, armed with hatred and ignorance.
Forever have I sat here... but not forever shall I remain...
