Sinking sand

by Anna   Jun 11, 2006

I know that I could lie here and stroke your face all night
And I know that I could wake you and that you'd make everything alright
but instead of that I lie here and stroke your perfect skin
taking air deep into me, as if trying to breathe you in
as my insomnia slowly dies I fall into a dream
you wake me with a smile, and a kiss for what lifes been
drifting in and out of my mind as you wrap me in your arms
I feel so fragile and yet so safe, so close yet so far from harm
you gently pull me closer, and untangle me from the sheets
I slowly blink my eyes open, ask me, I'm yours to keep
covering me with yur body, whirling round my loved up mind
I don't think you know how much you mean, how hard you were to find
so we link the fingers of our sleepy early morning hands
As I let my body merge into yours, and I'm on sinking sand
