Learn to Love Again

I lay my head down to rest,
But you've crept into my mind,
This feeling is so different,
I've never felt this of any kind.

You're all that's in my head,
And you haunt me in my dreams,
All I ask is to talk to you,
But you're never around it seems.

Yes it's easy to pick up a phone,
But it's just so hard to do,
I don't know if you love me back,
Though I hope you feel it too.

This feeling just hurts so much,
And I've only felt it once before,
But I'm afraid of loving again,
Since my heart is so very sore.

I want to let you in,
To grasp you with an open arm,
But this feeling deep inside of me,
Is just keeping me from harm.

I'm not ready to risk anything,
After I was hurt so bad,
And I know you were hurt too,
By the one you once had.

This is all I ask of you,
That when we're both ready to begin,
To let each other into our hearts
And learn to love again.

(Weirdest thing I've ever written...comments would be appreciated though!)

    I notice alott of your poems are all written in the same stanza form, try to mix it up....forming odd sentences would really make the person focas more on specific details. great poem tho!!!!

    I know people say they can relate to poems but in all honestly I can as I was hurt bad and the one person I want to let in my heart I don't want to hurt or be hurt by.My only suggestion is maybe take out the word this (the second one) in your first stanza
