What flows in her tears

by megan   Jun 13, 2006

She sits in the corner of her room,
crying , now that the day is done.
Struggling to get through each day,
Waiting for every one to end.
Once she is told to go to bed,
Shes free.
Free from the fighting and the pain.
In her own little world now,
Until morning arrives.
All this girl does is cry.
Letting out every emotion she has.
Fear, pain, hurt, sadness, anger...
She can only think about whats going on,
Trying to make the time go slower
So that she can stay locked in her room longer.
Every time she cries,
This young girl releases everything she holds onto.
Nobody knows whats really flowing in her tears,
Except her.
Crying isn't just because she's sad,
It also lets out everything from that day.
Holding onto it all, would just make it worse.
One by one the tears fall from her cheek,
For more will come the next day.
Once she falls fast asleep,
She dreams of escaping her nightmare, her so called life.
Taken far from home, is what she hopes,
But nothing is ever done.
She really only relies on the tears from her eyes,
Knowing that they set her free.
Not forever but to get through each night,
So she can sleep and dream of a better life.
With smiles and laughter,
Joy and forgiveness.
But when she awakes,
It all starts over.
The pain from her family,
the screaming and fighting.
Crawling into a small corner,
just like the one in her room,
She holds onto the only thing that she has left,
Herself.
One by one again, the tears start to fall.
If only her parents, and the world around her could see,
What really lies behind them.
Her tears are what gets her through each day,
Letting go of what she went through.
The horror in her each eye,
Is enough to make her cry.
She slowly creeps into her room,
Shuts the door and cries some more.
Until finally her body is so weak, that she falls asleep.
Dreaming once more.
