Cleaning out my box of memories...

by Olliver Kahle   Jun 13, 2006

The sun shines down on this perfect picture,
A simple snapshot of good times gone bye,
The atmosphere quickly turning sad,
The light burning brightly through the waste,
Hurt and hidden away memories emerge,
Desperately clinging to the shadows,
Standing in last defiance of the coming summer,
Tasting the blood in my mouth,
Trying to forget all about you, about us,
Thinking only about the sunshine behind me,
"Don't dwell on this, don't let it get to you"
It doesn't can't shift this attention,
My last breath poisoned by these thoughts,
Hoping I won't crumble under the weight of these memories...
