Mirror of Broken Peace

by Carlee Ann   Jun 13, 2006

I saw a mirror and looked inside
And now I must regret
That when I saw my reflection
I just had to break it

The glass shattered on the floor
I stepped back just in case
But to my horror, in the pieces
I could still see my distorted face

I looked away and cringed
I didn't want to see
The broken heart, the broken soul
The pain still inside of me

Everybody loves
This girl they think they know
But when I finally faced myself
I had no where else to go

It's so hard sometimes
Looking in that mirror
I don't want to look at myself
And discover my greatest fear

I sit in silence, crying
Alone amongst the glass
I finally acheived it all...
Broken peace at last.

Wonderful write! Sorrowful words, beautifully crafted. A very enjoyable piece, that flowed like water.
