Toxic truths

by Carli   Jun 13, 2006

Alone where I sit
Drowning in the shadows
There’s a voice inside my head
What it says, nobody knows
Whispering in the distance
A touch embraces my face
Surreal surroundings in my view
What got me to this place?
Laying in pristine waters
Cool liquid opens my senses
A breath of fresh air
Yet my body tenses
Pounding in my brain
Sends shivers down my spine
Like spiders clinging to my skin
The sensation is strangely divine
Toxic truths poison my mind
The voice reappears this time
Brainwashing me with nonsense
I believe they’re truly sublime
