Lingual Delicacies

by N J Thornton   Jun 15, 2006

Mouth watering delicacies to
Make your convulsed stomach churn
- Lingual not literal.

In a prance of tedium
A drifting mind may
Delve into vision of
Decadent and lewd fantasies,
Whereby the iteration of
Less decent French words
Are pronounced.

Dismayed reactions of
Sickened anger
Are replied with aberrant
Bursts of rage -
Poorly cloaked embarrassment.

Persistent lack of maturity
Insisting precision
Despite opinion alterations
To suit the debate.

When tempers are settled
And the magnification glass
Removed from the vulgar ego,
Black is black and vile, sinful
Accusations are scolded.

** I'm not picking on the French. "French words" is another way of saying "swear words.

To tell the truth. I think this is one of the best poems I have read lately. The language and wording you used was really good. And, I really liked the last stanza. To me it felt like it was the most powerful point in the poem. Really great job! 5/5
