A Promise (C)

All it took was just one night for me to realize that I was worth more
It was that final hug as we walked out that door
You told me thank you for all that I did
And it meant a lot more to me inside, when you broke down and cried
Because I knew those tears where something that you were trying to hide
But you didn't lie or run away you looked me right in the eye
when we said goodbye
Later to realize that it could have been forever
that's something I never, want
You called me that night and I knew something was wrong
I heard that music in the back round, it was that song
You told me you loved me and were sorry for what was to come and quickly hung up the phone
That's when my mind began to roam
I quickly called you back and you picked up the phone and you assured me that you were home but not alone
I asked you what was the matter as the music began to get louder
you told me you had no place here and that you should go away I started to cry and begged you to stay
We talked for awhile and I told you I'm glade my number is what you dialed
I told you, you were worth more that what you said and I put good memories into your head
You finally turned the music down and I turned a smile on your face from what was a frown
You promised me that night that you wouldn't go away that you would be hear the next day
Still unsure I didn't hung up the phone I didn't want to leave you alone
You fell asleep while I laied awake and I repeated the words to you that weren't fake
you proublay didn't hear them and wont remember what I said but that morning you weren't dead
I call you and I heard your voice and I told you that you made the right choice
You told me that you promised me and that you never went back on your word
Those were the best words that I ever heard
