Ten thousand fingers...

by Jenna Balkin   Jun 18, 2006

As I lay in bed that night,
it was as dark as black charcoal...
Ten thousand icy fingers,
were swimming around my soul...

They were taking over my body,
and I began to scream,
and I tell you this experience,
it wasn't just a dream...

I fell out of bed,
and landed on the floor...
I felt the icy fingers,
they were torturing me more...

I jumped up and panicked,
then decided to run...
I'll tell you what, my journey,
it was far from fun...

I met up with some strangers,
and they asked me what was wrong...
I told them I was running,
and that I couldn't talk for long...

I kept running through the night,
until I met the day...
Now that I could see again,
the ice had gone away...

I thought about the fingers,
and I was in such fright...
Now people ask me why,
I'm still afraid of night...
