Fairtale

by Lil miss Robin Elizabeth   Jun 19, 2006

Don't pull me into you magical eyes,
Or your believable lies.
Because I'll just leave you with sad sighs.
Don't flatter me with your smile,
Because to me its just a poison vile.

I don't have long hair to climb,
Or a glass slipper to leave behind.
No fairy godmother.
No sad stories to share.
I'm no far away princess
I ain't waiting for true loves first kiss.
I'm not in an eternal sleep
and I'm not yours to keep
I'm not as big as your thumb
and I'm just not that dumb.

I don't want to meet Prince Charming
and I don't want to be anyone's sweet darling.
And I don't need a happily ever after
To keep my laughter.

This is a funny poem? Lol, anyways I like the poem I don't think it's funny, I think it should go into the 'life society' catergory under "inspirational poems' because everything that you mentioned in this poem is inspirational and true, not something that should be laughed at. And I agree with Jaime, in the second stanza you did a great job naming most of the things that are in common fairytale stories, the format and flow of this poem are great, some rhymes are corny, but some are really good, but hey you can't have them all. Anyways that was a long run-on sentence..Nice job.

Good poem, keep up the good work.

Great job especially with the second stanza, you indirectly mentionned most of the common fairytales. A good message behind it too, us girls really don't need a Prince Charming to be happy! This is a topic I love to write about too, I loved this.
