Fire vs Water

by JL   Jun 20, 2006

Flames lick the wood
Quickly engulfing it
Spreading faster
Eating away at the canvas
Temperatures soar
Sparks fly into the air
As wood cracks
Fighting oncoming droplets
Desperate to finish its job
Smoke rises
Water runs around
Freezing and extinguishing
In vain
For all that remains
Is ashes
