Poem 6

by Chandini   Jun 21, 2006

Lustrous is the hair that flows
Her lips are like a crimson rose
Eyes shine bright beneath lashes bold
What beauty is this that I behold?

Now the hair is almost gone
Lips are chapped, the redness a con
Eyes cast down, woebegone
But the beauty remains, precious one.

This poem is for a friend who has cancer and is going through the trials of chemotherapy etc. She was the kind of person who would turn heads in the street and she mourns the loss of her hair, but for me she still is and always will be the most beautiful person ever.
