An Instant of Delusion

Easiest to sense
But the hardest to overcome
Deeply penetrating and yet,
Makes you feel so numb

Brings you down
And in the haze you crawl
An immense emotional spectrum;
Nothing to break the fall

A moment of confusion
Then a moment of hate
Within that instant of delusion
All possibilities negate

You feel there's no coming back
There's no moving on
You're caught in the whirlpool
And it seems to have won

Then appears that flicker,
Of brilliance it seems
So absolute, exquisite and refined
Through the darkness it's hope that shines

Through the tunnel you've passed
Where the horrors remain
At the end now the light glows.
With your life in contrast
There seems not a stain
As the contentment clearly shows

Hold on, there's a hand
Behind the happiness bought
That's where your friend stands
Where your pleasure is sought

If not front or behind
Then right by your side
With your smile in my mind
I'll be your guide

And all the way through
Ill be pushing you further
With you, to whatever extent
My aim is to keep you content
For your and my friendship was meant
