My Notebook

by Allie Cat   Jun 22, 2006

They asked me what was wrong and I
Hardly glanced up from my writing
They asked what was going on
What inner battle was I fighting

They questioned my lack of sleep,
I never let go of my pen
Then they wanted to know other things
And I ignored them once again

They asked me if there was any way they could help
And I let out a slight sigh
I almost responded, but I just couldn't
Quite look them in the eye

They wondered out loud about
My cutting back on food
And why I always have
Such a sullen mood

I just scribble away
The pen say what what I cannot
Appearing on my paper is
Every emotion, tear, and thought

They finally asked
What was causing all my pain
I gazed at them and said,
"My notebook will explain."
